Talk About Trees is an interactive, science-based program for pre-school through eighth grade students. Programs are presented by experienced facilitators and offered free to classrooms throughout Oregon.

The Goals:

  • To encourage awareness and appreciation for the value of trees and forests in our daily lives; and 
  • To encourage an understanding about the protection, management and conservation of the renewable forest.

The Program: 

  • This unique forest education program is aimed at pre-school through eighth grade students.  The program gives an overview of forest ecology, management practices and forest product use.

Trained facilitators bring to your classroom a presentation and hands-on activities to enhance learning.  The theme of the presentation focuses on the biological processes of trees and forests.  Topics discussed include:

Tree Classification / Identification Photosynthesis Benefits of Trees
Renewability / Reforestation Tree Growth / Stucture of a Tree Conservation & Forest Management
